Youhana’s industry settles dazzling derby

Sunday in leafy Edgbaston was less tranquil than usual yesterday. The first rays of the September sun were barely filtering through the trees when the bugles and whistles, drums and airhorns, which day long were to fill the air with the noise of a million bees, began. By the end, as Pakistan steered their way into a semi-final match against West Indies at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday, it was a cacophony.
It would have taken some hours before the streets of Birmingham calmed down. In Karachi and Lahore they will be at it all week: an estimated television audience of one billion people watched a fine – no, brilliant – albeit low-scoring contest between a pair of the fiercest adversaries…
