Punjab University Gets Own Campus FM Station
The Mass Communication Department of the Punjab University has spiced up the lives of the students and the people within its 15-kilometre of radius with its three hours long daily transmissions.
‘I have always detested reading notices on the notice board, so tuning into the PU FM and listening to the Campus Round Up updates my information,’ said Baqir Hussain Badani, a student of MPhil in Physics. He said that although the radio aired few songs, the selection was superb.
The Punjab University FM 104.6 radio, sponsored by UNESCO, started its transmissions on September 22. The broadcast can be heard from 5pm to 8pm.
‘Sorry, I can’t tune in on my transistor on such odd hours as I have to do a lot of chores at that time,’ complained Alia, a student doing masters in social science. She demanded that transmission hours be increased…
