Fast new train to cut 2 hours between Karachi, Faisalabad
Pakistan Railways (PR) has decided to start a new passenger train called Millat Express on the Faisalabad-Karachi route on November 7 (21st Ramzan). The train will be the fastest in the country, running at 120km/h, and will slash the travel time between the two cities by almost two hours.
PR sources told Daily Times that the decision to start the new train was taken at a divisional superintendent conference at the railways headquarters. Millat Express will consist solely of new coaches that are being built in Pakistan. Sources said that fifty-five old coaches would be used in three new trains (including both, freight and passenger), and six tracks would be built to accommodate them.
