Swedish Pianist Entertains Lahore

Swedish pianist Staffan Sandstrom enthralled the audience with a classical music recital at Haveli Barood Khana in the Walled City on Tuesday night. The embassies of Sweden and France organised the evening to mark the 40th anniversary of the Alliance Francaise de Lahore.

Seating was arranged in the backyard of the Haveli. The lighting was soft and romantic. The elite of the city graced the occasion. The known faces at the event included the Sajida Vandal, principal of the National College of Arts (NCA), Faizan and Sadan Peerzada of Rafi Peer Theatre, music critic Sarwat Ali, Faqir Ijazuudin and Yousuf Salahuddin, the host.

Mr Sandstorm is an active soloist, chamber musician and teacher. He received his diploma from the Royal College Academy of Music in Stockholm and his Doctorate Masters of Music from State University of New York Stony Brook.
