Fashions of Winter Adorn Lahore Art Gallery
The Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) art gallery at The Mall launched a dress exhibition titled ‘Fashions of Winter’ on Thursday.
The YMCA art gallery has been around for four years and has held several exhibitions but the ongoing dress exhibition is the first of its kind at the gallery, John Shaffaq, the general secretary of YMCA, told Daily Times. The exhibits on display are the works of fashion design students enrolled in the YMCA School of Art and Design’s one-year diploma programme. Mr Shaffaq said students created the clothes over a span of six months.
Nearly a hundred outfits by nine students were on display at the gallery. Clothes ranged from modern to traditional and reflected the tones of winter through their dark colours. Former TV newscaster and self-taught fashion designer Saba Faisal, who inaugurated the exhibition, appreciated the students’ work and said the exhibition made it obvious that the designers had put in their best efforts…
