Polo Cup starts in Lahore with record 12 teams
A record number of 12 teams are taking part in the CJ-Lysine Polo Cup, which is starting at Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground here on Tuesday (today). ‘This is the first-ever tournament of the club to be participated by such a large number of teams,’ said a LPC spokesman yesterday. ‘The six-day long activity has attracted a large number of players whose presence in the tournament is a treat to watch for the lovers of the game,’ said LPC secretary Irfan Ali Hyder.
Irfan said participation of 12 teams in a local tournament was real encouraging for the LPC keeping in view its efforts for promotion of polo. He said it was a heartening sign for the LPC that polo was on a fast track of progress and the enthusiasm shown by the participating teams would go a long way in further development of the game…
