U.S. Paper Opens Islamabad Bureau

Newsday announced today that is has opened a new bureau in Islamabad, Pakistan. James Rupert has been named bureau chief. He will cover other regions in the area including Afghanistan, Iran, and India. Previously, Rupert was Newsday’s deputy foreign editor, based in the paper’s Melville, N.Y. headquarters.
