Amidst the growing thaw in India-Pakistan relations, a team of doctors of Pakistani origin has offered to adopt an Indian village to take care of all its healthcare needs. This might sound unbelievable, given the strained relations the two countries have shared for over five decades, but is true, said Hussain Malik, president of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani descent of North America (APPNA). The Pakistani physicians have zeroed in on Kumri village near Amritsar in Punjab to create better healthcare facilities.
