via www.gulf-daily-news.com
When Haji Abdul Qudoos first arrived in Bahrain in 1959, he earned just BD60 a month working in a bank. Now he is an established businessman, who believes the key to his success has been a combination of hard work and a commitment to the community and charitable activities. Mr Qudoos was the first Pakistani to join Standard Chartered Bank and joined Pakistan’s United Bank Limited (UBL) when it launched operations here a decade later. He now runs his own family business. “I can remember the then Amir Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa used to ride a horse from his Riffa residence to Manama,” remembered Mr Qudoos.
