Mountain Lions Enter Karachi Zoo
A pair of puma has joined the inhabitants of the Karachi Zoo, increasing the size of the big cat family to 10. The zoo authorities told The News that the one-year-old pair was added to the zoo on Monday and they were contented with the new atmosphere. The new tenders had already been invited for the purchase of birds as well as some big exotic mammals including elephants, rhinoceroses, lions, monkeys, etc and the bids would be opened on March 28. The zoo administration, would soon invite people to suggest names of the pumas, the spokesman said adding that the best name suggested would be chosen. According to the zoo administration the total population of inhabitants in the zoo had now increased to around 844 animals in the zoo, which included 226 mammals, 409 birds and 209 reptiles.
