‘Line Out of Control’ Crosses Pakistan-India Border
A Pakistani theatre group is set to blitz the capital Sunday with an explosive satire that debunks cricket mania, the pretensions of the American empire and the cliches of official diplomacy. “Lines Out Of Control”, scripted by Imran Aslam and directed by Yasmin Ismail of the Karachi-based Grips Theatre Group, parodies official postures and foibles of the men who presume to run affairs of the world. Besides the situation in Iran, Iraq and India-Pakistan relations, the US also comes in for some irreverent swipes in the play that exposes the contradictions in its involvement in the Iraq war. The play, to be staged at the India Habitat Centre here Sunday, has attracted huge interest with most of the tickets for two shows of the play already sold.
