Consumer rights bill okayed in Punjab

The Punjab cabinet has approved drafts of the Protection of Consumer Rights (PCR) bill and the Punjab Heritage Foundation (PHF) bill and also awarded the charter to the University of South Asia on Saturday. These bills would be tabled in the Punjab Assembly in its next session.

Nokia wins Pakistan phone network

Finnish mobile phone company Nokia says it has signed a deal with Norwegian firm Telenor to set up and run a mobile telephone network in Pakistan. The company said the network would be operational by the first half of next year, and would initially cover northern and central Punjab.
