are we finally headed where we should've started from?

Ever since the 9th of March 2007, Pakistan has entered into a new chapter of her history. This fine republic which had been a mere excuse for a nation state finally rose. And it rose in such a way that powers of malice and evil both foreign and domestic were left shaken at their very foundations. The only reason that Musharraf's dictatorial regime survived the lawyers' movement was because the general elections were just around the corner and the government was saved from literally falling to its knees in front of the unrelenting will of the people of Pakistan. Elections came and "democracy" prevailed, the People's Party with the exception of its late leader came into power.
The Ides of March is upon us again in 2009; the hue and cry from the government's corner is that "we are a democratically elected government with the president coming in the same way! Leave us be! Do not criticize us! Well, the people of Pakistan have sent a very clear message, that after 61 years of deep slumber, the nation, the people whose hallmark was once its apathy and ignorance is finally out there finding, making and establishing its identity, the nation has said "we will not settle for dictatorship, nor for foreign intervention, and neither will we settle for a democratic system which is completely devoid of a moral and ethical standard desired from an Islamic republic, the first Islamic republic of its sort mind you!"
Hence the nation rises; crushing any and every pillar of opposition, for once the will of the people prevails. Two years into the movement, we have not relented, we have not succumbed to short termed worldly desires, for once the future of the generations to come and the future of the motherland speaks louder than any other interest.
What say you people??
